1. Nothing at All
There was 50 feet of rock over our heads I never thought we would be found
And in the dark it was hard to say we’d be fossils in the ground
A little bit of light was all we need I knew we could pull through
And if I died in all of this I’d suffer all of you
Fire burned inside my head and spread through all my viens
Instead of leaving well alone yea I took all the pain
On rocks I dreamt of foremost friends and tools I could not find
The black that masked the water fed the demons in my mind
And high above there came a sound like thunder from the Earth
When I looked up I saw my life misfortunes to my birth
I got my self my body back my legs felt just like lead
By the time you hear this I hope I won’t be dead
High hopes for nothing at all
2. Oscar
Let's laugh along the riverwalk and see the Alamo
The next day at North Star mall we slept on benches made of skin
We tried to talk to people but they turned their chins
Oscar was the driver at the end of the night
He He! He's the driver and I think he's alright
Loooking for a cheap hotel we found a cabaret
We need to find a place to sleep so we ran away
Maybe find somebody with a heart who will let us stay
We're soaking wet and we need a home
That night it began to poor so we hung out at Starbucks
Bennegan's closes at two so we're out of luck
If we learned anything from our oh so silly trip
It can be explained in three words listen to this
"Eat at Arby's!"
Oscar was the driver at the end of the night
He He! He's the driver and I think he's alright
Loooking for a cheap hotel we found a cabaret
We need to find a place to sleep so we ran away
Maybe find somebody with a heart who will let us stay
We're soaking wet and we need a home
4. Marigold
I’m jealous but kind I’d care and share her with nobody else
If she were to scream at me I probably wouldn’t mind
She’s one of the few I know you know she’s hard to find
She’s a beautiful girl brown eyes that shine and hide if she chose
In crowds of the world I would know her by the spot on her nose
Alcohol makes her blush a single cup of wine
If I were to write a song for her would she be mine
Oh Marigold, shielded from the greatest storms
Oh Marigold, hurricanes to zombie swarms
A marathoner she does not mind the snow in the air
Keep time with a watch and find a white hat over black hair
Half dead and I’d still know my thoughts could keep her warm
And I bend out of shape sometimes don’t touch her I’ll deform
I worry too much at times for her just tell me she’s fine
It’s never enough for her one word could never define
If all of the lights went out I’m sure that she would glow
And I’d see all the thoughts of hers I’d really like to know
Oh Marigold, shielded from the greatest storms
Oh Marigold, hurricanes to zombie swarms
6. Personal
Happy to see me I guess you were not
And if you were happy I thought you’d be nice
Sooner I’d find out you’re colder than ice
You never called back I guess you forgot
I think it makes sense if your mind’s on a lot
I had to leave then you needed to sleep
So I didn’t wake you I made not a peep
Sleepless and long nights I lay on the floor
I cannot imagine that I could take more
Don’t answer to slowly I won’t leave it there
I’m starting to wander do you even care
It hurts me to say all these horrible things
But I need a new scene a new change of strings
I hope you don’t realize yea after the fact
What has inspired this verbal attack
I finally hate you
8. Fall
My heart, my heart, it gives away
And I fall, I fall, I fall toward you
Like rain, rain, rain breaking
From clouds ripe and full
I fall toward you
Ooh my babe, she loves me blue
Waiting to be consumed, I fall toward you
I fall, I fall for your embrace
Like fruit that drops from heavy limbs
Surrender, surrender to the Earth
I fall, ooh I fall, I fall toward grace
Waiting to be consumed, I fall toward you
Waiting for my rebirth
I fall toward you
Ooh my babe, she loves me blue
11. Bazooka Tube Revisited
Flowers are spoiled compared to the weeds
It's dumb to boil what you can't eat
Bonfires blazing, s'mores on a stick
Mosquitos grazing the hair on your neck
But if you want to come out and see
What there is to find
But what you must really want
Climbing trees is a great way to pass the time
Line up the children and see them shine
Wade the water get a taste, this time you'll learn
Dive on in but I doubt you'll return
Armies calling out names to fight in their wars
Beach volleyball played on an Alaskan shore
Running miles just to see who can get there first
There are other things than liquid that can clench your thirst
But it you want to come out and see
What there is to find
But what you must really want
